Morus (Mulberry Tree)

The mulberry (Morus) is a majestic tree that originated in Asia. There are several species of mulberry, the white mulberry (Morus Alba), the black mulberry (Morus nigra), and the heartless mulberry, or ornamental mulberry. The mulberry tree is one of the most popular in landscape architecture, for its ability to quickly provide a large amount of shade, but also for its great height, reaching up to 15 meters. Thus, it is not surprising that it is prominent in both urban and country landscapes. Thanks to the density of its leaves and branches, it is common to find mulberry trees in parks, gardens and walkways, providing a natural shelter from the sun. In addition to its beauty, mulberry is a hardy tree that can withstand sudden temperature changes, severe pruning and even high levels of pollution, as long as it is watered regularly. It has no particular soil requirements, being able to tolerate dry and saline soils, however in fertile and well-drained soils the results are impressive. If you are looking for a tree that can grow to a large size and bring the form of a natural umbrella to your garden, the heartless mulberry is an excellent choice. Its rapid growth combined with the fact that the space remains free of falling berries makes it an ideal choice. When it comes to the price of mulberry, you’d be surprised at how affordable it can be compared to other large trees of its size. In our nursery you will find both fruiting white (Morus alba) and black (Morus nigra) mulberries, as well as fruitless mulberries of the genus platifolia and platanifolia.
